About the role
You will design and scale the APIs and orchestration layer that power VerfiX verification — KYC, KYB, AML screening, and fraud intelligence — turning multiple provider integrations into one reliable, observable platform.
What you'll do
- Design, build, and operate backend services and public APIs for identity verification workflows.
- Build the orchestration layer that routes checks across OCR, biometric, AML, and KYB providers.
- Own reliability, observability, and performance — SLAs matter for regulated customers.
- Implement webhooks, audit logging, and data-retention controls aligned with nFADP/GDPR.
- Collaborate with compliance to translate regulatory requirements into technical safeguards.
What we're looking for
- Strong backend engineering experience (e.g. Go, Python, Node, Java, or similar).
- Comfort designing REST APIs, event-driven systems, and integrations with third-party providers.
- A pragmatic approach to security, data privacy, and testing.
- Clear written communication and an ownership mindset in a small team.
Nice to have
- Applied ML experience with biometrics, liveness, or fraud detection.
- Familiarity with KYC/AML domains or other regulated environments.
- Experience with Swiss/EU data-residency and on-premise deployments.
